Employment Opportunities

The Stevenson-Carson School District employs 56 certified staff members and 60 classified staff members. District teaching positions include 27 secondary level teachers assigned to Stevenson High School and Wind River Middle School and 29 elementary level teachers assigned to either Carson Elementary or Stevenson Elementary. Administrative positions include principals at Stevenson Elementary (K-2), Carson Elementary (3-6), Wind River Middle School (7-8), and Stevenson High School (9-12). Classified positions include: Head secretaries at the district office and each building, instructional classroom aides, library aides, food service workers, ground and maintenance staff, custodians, bus drivers, and mechanics.

Certificated Substitute Teachers

Bachelor’s degree (in any field) and the ability to pass a background check.

Application Procedures

Certificated positions will be posted on line as soon as a vacancy is announced and copies will be sent to Washington placement offices, a few out-of-state college placement offices, and Teachers - Teachers Website Closing dates for most certified positions are approximately 3 weeks from the posting date. A completed application packet includes a letter of interest, application, and a college placement file or at least three current letters of recommendation.

Classified positions will be posted on line as soon as a vacancy is announced and also advertised in the local newspaper, The Skamania County Pioneer. The closing date for completed applications for classified positions is generally two weeks.

The District Business Office receives applications for announced vacancies only.
